World's largest picnic blanket unfurled on a mountain on a Thursday
World's largest picnic blanket unfurled on a mountain on a Thursday
We couldn't think of a truly impressive world record that we could actually break, so instead we went for something rather niche:
"the world's largest flag picnic blanket unfurled on a mountain on a Thursday"
(Editor's note: one for the philosophers, is it a flag if all it ever does is lie on the ground? Ed.)
Why did we unfurl it on a mountain? Simple: our parks are full of dog shit and we didn't want the inevitable brown skid marks to be visible to the world, so we put it on a mountain where dogs are banned instead.
World's heaviest flag pole
The Sir Wilfred Grenfell holding a limp Canadian flag; our coastguard must be over resourced as we couldn't find anything better to do with this ship for a few weeks...
We dedicated a whole coastguard ship — the Sir Wilfred Grenfell — to the role of flag pole for the duration of the World Cup!
Clocking in at over 3800 tonnes, we're claiming that this is the World's heaviest flag pole. Failing that, it's certainly a contender for the most pointless allocation of resources...
World's seventh most obscure world record
You thought our world record for the largest flag picnic blanket displayed on a mountain was obscure? We've taken things a step further...
We're doubling up having realised that by virtue of being the seventh most obscure world record we can claim the world record for holding the seventh most obscure world record. Boom!
